Help people with MS in Vermont, while you challenge yourself on a terrific ride.
For 28 years, Green Mountain Getaway riders have raised tens of thousands of dollars to help local people newly diagnosed with MS, to provide wheelchair ramps to the homes of our neighbors whose MS has progressed, to fund other essential needs when there’s nowhere else to turn, and to fuel cutting-edge MS research to stop disease progression, restore lost function, and to end MS forever.
Starting and finishing at the University of Vermont in Burlington since 2012, the ride offers you an opportunity to experience all that this wonderful lake-front city has to offer. Take advantage of beautiful routes that provide spectacular mountain views and stunning scenes of Lake Champlain. Riding on the rural roads that wind in and around Chittenden County, the refreshed Green Mountain Getaway promises to keep the tradition of a unique Vermont ride alive and well.
With routes beginning and ending each day at the University of Vermont, you'll be able to enjoy the beauty that is Vermont from one convenient location. Whether you are looking for a weekend away with friends or family, or are an experienced cyclist or a novice, we have a great choice of routes for you ranging from 40 to 100 miles each day.
“I Ride with MS” program Sponsored by Genzyme and MS One to One
Registration begins on Friday night with accommodations available at UVM. You can also just join us bright and early Saturday morning before hitting the road. When you return, enjoy the festivities with food, music and massages. The fun continues Saturday evening with an awards ceremony or venture into downtown Burlington and enjoy the nightlife. On Sunday enjoy a full breakfast and then head out for another beautiful ride. When you return, top off a great weekend with old and new friends at the finish line celebration.
Parking is free at UVM on Saturday and Sunday and after 6pm on Friday. If you are at staying at the dorms and checking in early on Friday, you may pick up a UVM parking permit for Friday at reservation check-in.
Whether you are an individual rider, part of a team, or a family looking for a great weekend supporting an important cause, the Green Mountain Getaway is the perfect event for you!
