Ferry Information: tickets, schedules, parking, etc.

The deadline for securing ferry tickets through the Chapter is March 1, 2010.  After this date, ferry tickets must be purchased directly through the Steamship Authority.  Please see the information below, and follow the link to the Steamship Authority website for additional details.

Reservations are not needed for passengers and bicycles. Reservations are needed for vehicles and motorcycles. Contact the Steamship Authority for costs and availability.

Parking at Steamship Authority lots is $8-$10 per day. Take the free shuttle bus from the parking lot to the terminal or ride your bike on the four-mile bike path to the terminal. Tune to 1610AM when you enter Falmouth for parking information.

Bikes:  The Steamship Authority has one “bike bus.”  Seats on left side of bus were removed to put a hanging bike rack. You are responsible for loading your bike aboard. All other shuttle buses have a rack for a few bikes on the front, and bikes are not allowed inside the bus. If the bike bus is not running, ride your bike down the four-mile bike path to the terminal.

Schedule:  http://www.steamshipauthority.com/.  The Woods Hole to Vineyard Haven ferry takes 45 minutes. Arrive at least one hour before departure time to assure you can get from the parking lot to the terminal in time.

Boarding:  At the terminal, stay in the area where the dock master directs you. Board when directed. Steamship Authority staff will show you where to put your bike in the hold.

Arriving in Vineyard Haven:  Ride your bike the three miles to the Ride start at Martha's Vineyard High School.  Taxis and buses are available but have limited racks for bikes.
