Bike MS in Greater New England

The Greater New England Chapter offers several bike rides, each offering a special combination of great roads, beautiful scenery, outstanding people and a great cause.

Ride the Vineyard 2010Ride the Vineyard, presented by Genzyme, a Sanofi Company - May 2, 2015

The Bike MS season opens with Ride the Vineyard. Riders choose from 20-, 30- and 63-mile scenic rides along the winding roads of Martha’s Vineyard. With the quaint charm and beautiful ocean views, there’s a route for everyone, regardless of your cycling experience.
Minimum Fundraising: $250

Bike & Hike the Berkshires, presented by Biogen Idec - June 6, 2015

Bike and Hike the Berkshires 2007Bike and Hike the Berkshires is the perfect cycling or hiking event to shake off the indoor training boredom and kickoff a new year of fitness.  Whether you wear cycling shoes or hiking boots you will make mountains of progress against MS! In previous years, this event ended the Bike MS season. This year, it will take place early in our Bike MS season to provide participants with a challenging event to help sharpen their offseason training.   Bike MS: Bike and Hike The Berkshires offers three routes, and cyclists will experience the rolling and challenging terrain of Berkshire County and take you through scenic towns such as Stockbridge, Great Barrington, Williamstown, Lanesboro, and many more!  100 Mile Greylock Challengers will ride up Mt. Greylock! Hikers will also experience Mt. Greylock!  Whether you choose the 4-6 mile hike or the 6-9 mile hike, you will experience scenic views and challenging trails.  Both hikes will enjoy a lunch stop at the summit!

Ride the Rhode - June 20-21, 2015

Bike MS: Ride the Rhode 2015 is the second largest Bike MS event in New England. On June 20-21, more than 500 cyclists will journey along the scenic coast and through the winding country roads of Rhode Island. Route options include a choice of 75 or 100 miles on Saturday and 75 miles on Sunday. We will celebrate the completion of the first day with a barbecue and beer garden on the campus of The University of Rhode Island. Enjoy the comfort of URI’s updated dormitory facilities Saturday night and be well rested and ready to ride on Sunday.
Fundraising Minimum: $300  

Cape Cod Getaway, presented by Genzyme, a Sanofi Company - June 27-28, 2015

Cape Cod Getaway 2010 start2 Days, 150 miles, Boston to Provincetown…
The Cape Cod Getaway is the largest MS ride in New England. Beginning Saturday morning, you join over 2,000 riders pedaling from Boston, Mass., through the coastal towns of the South Shore to the Cape Cod Canal.  Day One ends at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Bourne, where you are welcomed with music and great food, and maybe even a beer or two.
     Early Sunday morning, you cross the Bourne Bridge and ride across picturesque Cape Cod making your way to Provincetown.  After crossing the finish line, riders have a chance to eat, socialize, and clean up before boarding the party boat back to Boston.
Minimum Fundraising: $500  

Minuteman Ride 2010Minuteman Ride - July 18, 2015

Join us as we ride the beautiful roads of historic Concord and surrounding metro-west towns. Revolutionary-era homes and beautiful New England scenery are just some of the sights you'll enjoy on this ride, close to Boston.
Minimum Fundraising: $250
 

 

Green Mountain Getaway - August 1-2, 2015

Experience all that the lake-front city of Burlington, Vermont has to offer, and take advantage of beautiful routes that will provide you with spectacular mountain views as well as stunning scenes of Lake Champlain. Riding on the rural roads that wind in and around Chittenden County, you'll be able to enjoy the beauty that is Vermont with routes each day beginning and ending at the University of Vermont.
Minimum Fundraising: $250

Great Maine Getaway - August 8-9, 2015

Join us for Great Maine Getaway and see Maine from the saddle of your bicycle. The start, finish and overnight for the ride is at University of New England in Biddeford, ME. Cyclists ride by farms, over hills and by the sea. An annual tradition is our Maine Lobster Bake, which takes place on Sunday afternoon. Have a memorable ride and share the experience with fellow cyclists riding and fundraising to create a world free of multiple sclerosis.
Minimum Fundraising: $250  

New Hampshire Seacoast Escape, presented by Biogen Idec - August 23, 2014

This August ride features the beauty of New Hampshire's scenic, less-traveled roads, and quaint villages from the comfort and quiet of your bicycle. Route options include 25 or 60 mile rides. This event has a family atmosphere and features a post-ride barbecue.
Minimum Fundraising: $250 


National Passport Program
Have a fantastic time riding with avid cyclists and meeting like-minded people that are passionate about helping to create a world free of MS!  Fundraising: raise $5,000 or more and ride an MS Bike Ride in another Chapter without additional fundraising.  

Be a Team
Share your bike MS experience by starting a team. Teams are a great way to build morale and demonstrate your community involvement. Any group of four or more people can form a team, and there are plenty of places to find members friends, family, your company or your community.

Pledges, Prizes, Prestige
Add up the dollars as the miles roll by. After registering, you’ll receive everything you need to collect contributions. And with our powerful online fundraising tools, we’ve made it even easier for your friends and family to contribute to your ride. Raise more then the minimum event amount and you’ll be eligible to win great prizes. Support a participant by using the Donate button at the top of this page.
